The silhouette of a mermaid — confident, effortless, unapologetically free — is entwined with rope, symbolizing both mastery of the ocean and playful defiance. The typography flows like script on the hull, marrying vintage maritime charm with contemporary polish.
Branding
Knotty Girl is a motor yacht made by Sunreef Yachts from Poland. The story is one of magnetic charm — where sophistication meets adventure, and elegance meets edge. She’s not your typical vessel; she’s a statement.
The yacht’s owner came to our Vancouver branding agency with the vessel name and a personality full of zest. Our task was to bring that spirit to life through a visual identity that could capture both refinement and playfulness. The name Knotty Girl evokes dual meanings: the nautical world of ropes, knots, and sailing — and the magnetic charm being unbound by convention. The design translates that duality into a timeless emblem — fluid, confident, and effortlessly bold.
Zesty blew me away — the design is far beyond what I had imagined. The identity feels elegant, confident, and full of attitude. The emblem looks incredible on the yacht, and I couldn’t be happier.
